Paver Patio with Turf Joints Installed in Westwood Kansas

A lot of backyards in Westwood just sit there - unused, patchy grass, no real purpose. This one needed a space that could actually be used. Something clean, durable, and worth spending time on.

We built out a full paver patio using large-format concrete pavers with artificial turf joints throughout. That combination is sharp looking, but it also does something practical - it softens the hardscape so the space doesn't feel like a slab. The turf joints stay green without any watering or mowing, which makes the whole thing easy to maintain long-term.

The patio connects to a paver pathway that runs along the side of the house. We edged the pathway with gray concrete border pavers to keep everything contained and give it a finished, intentional look. The diagonal paver pattern on the walkway section is a nice detail that adds some visual interest without being over the top.

This is the kind of work we genuinely enjoy. It's not just laying pavers - it's thinking through how the patio connects to the rest of the yard, how it flows from the deck above, and how it'll hold up season after season. Getting those details right is what separates a patio that looks good in photos from one that actually functions well for years.
